...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM AKST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...Kodiak Island Northeast. * WHEN...Until 3 PM AKST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities reduced to one half mile or less due to blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong northerly winds will develop and allow for colder temperatures to work into Kodiak Island. In addition, a compact low will move towards the island from the northeast later today with snow spreading over the northern side of the island this afternoon and continuing through Sunday afternoon.
