...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, including the following
area, Windham CT, central Massachusetts, including the following
areas, Northern Worcester MA and Southern Worcester MA, and
northern Rhode Island, including the following areas, Northwest
Providence RI and Southeast Providence RI.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to develop Tuesday
afternoon into Wednesday across the Watch area. The heaviest
rainfall is expected Tuesday evening into Wednesday.
Excessive rainfall rates are possible, which could trigger
instances of street flooding and contribute to rises on
rivers, streams and larger river basins. Two to four inches
of rain are expected in the Watch area, with locally higher
amounts possible especially along the eastern slopes of the
Worcester Hills.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Scattered thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and early evening
produced 1 to 2 inches of rain with localized amounts to 3
inches. Moderate to locally heavy rains over eastern NY into
the waters east of New Jersey were forecast to move northward
this morning and continue into the afternoon, which will
raise the risk for street flooding and cause rises on streams
and creeks.

...FLOOD WATCH WILL EXPIRE AT 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

The Flood Watch will expire for portions of northern Connecticut,
including the following areas, Hartford CT, Tolland CT and Windham
CT, Massachusetts, including the following areas, Eastern Franklin
MA, Eastern Hampden MA, Eastern Hampshire MA, Northern Worcester MA,
Southern Worcester MA, Western Franklin MA, Western Hampden MA and
Western Hampshire MA, and northern Rhode Island, including the
following areas, Northwest Providence RI and Southeast Providence RI.

Although there are still periods of moderate rain, which could
worsen areas where flooding occurred, the risk for excessive rain is
no longer expected with rain intensities in the light to moderate
levels. Therefore, the Flood Watch will expire at 8 PM EDT this
evening.
