Details:
...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM AKST TUESDAY...

...WINTER WEATHER IMPACTING THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE...

.Multiple fronts are pushing in from the southwest bringing
multiple round of precipitation, warming temperatures, and
increasing winds through early week. Precipitation continues,
snow for the northern half of the panhandle still ongoing. Juneau
is seeing a transition to wintry mix with sleet in downtown, with
precipitation types transitioning south to north through this
morning. Stronger southerly flow has caused more moisture to move
into the Skagway and Haines area, causing more snow than
originally anticipated, prompting both moving the advisory start
time to now, as well as adding Haines into the mix. With stable
air moving in from the Chilkat Valley, could see periods of
freezing rain tonight as the strong warm air advection raises
temperatures above freezing above 2000 ft.

* WHAT...Snow followed by mixed precipitation expected. Total
snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a
light glaze.

* WHERE...Haines Borough and Klukwan.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM AKST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery conditions. Heavy wet snow will be
difficult to manage due to high water content.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Around 1 to 3 inches has fallen so far.
Snow will gradually transition to a mixed precipitation with a
50% chance of freezing rain between 6 pm and midnight.
Freezing rain falling on the existing snow accumulation may
make snow very difficult to handle.
