...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM AKST MONDAY... ...SNOW FOR THE PANHANDLE OVER THE WEEKEND... .A long duration snow event is ongoing across the panhandle this weekend, and will continue into Monday. Multiple bands of moderate to heavy snow will move up, associated with multiple waves aloft. Strongest snow rates are looking increasingly likely near the Icy Strait corridor this evening, associated with the second wave of precipitation from the south, along with a potential additional band of snow on Monday. Highest uncertainty with snow amounts is near Petersburg and Kake, where warm temperature aloft may limit snow ratios, therefore limiting snow amounts. * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches. * WHERE...Admiralty Island. * WHEN...From 6 AM Sunday to 6 AM AKST Monday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall will diminish through Monday.
