...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 4 AM AKDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12
inches with localized areas of up to 18 inches possible. Snowfall
rates of one inch per hour in heavy snow showers.

* WHERE...Girdwood, Portage and Turnagain Pass.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 4 AM AKDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Thursday evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Bands of heavy snow showers will develop this
afternoon and move over the area. Very low density snow will be
easily suspended by vehicles, leading to low visibility.
