Tombigbee River At Gainesville Lock and Dam affecting Sumter, Marengo and Greene Counties. .Heavy rainfall of 2 to 3 inches has occurred the past several days over the Tombigbee River basin, and a flood warning is now in effect for the Tombigbee River. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Tombigbee River at Gainesville Lock and Dam. * WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon to early Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 101.0 feet, Flooding of low lying agricultural and wooded lands in the area occurs. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 PM CST Sunday the stage was 88.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Tuesday afternoon to a crest of 101.2 feet early Wednesday morning.
