...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PDT THURSDAY... ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PDT THURSDAY DUE TO WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY RECOVERY FOR NORTH BAY INTERIOR MOUNTAINS AND EAST BAY HILLS... ....Dry and windy conditions combined with some dry vegetation will lead to a critical fire weather threat through Thursday morning... * AFFECTED AREA...East Bay Hills and North Bay Interior Mountains. * TIMING...Until 9 AM PDT Thursday. * WINDS 20 FOOT...Northerly winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY RECOVERY...Thursday morning relative humidity of less than 40 percent. * IMPACTS...Extreme fire behavior and rapid rates of spread likely on new and existing wildfires. There will be an increased risk for power outages.

Hottest conditions across the East Bay Hills and Valleys. * WHERE...The Santa Clara Valley and Eastern Hills, and The East Bay Hills and Valleys. * WHEN...From noon Thursday to 7 PM PDT Friday. * IMPACTS...This level of heat affects primarily those individuals extremely sensitive to heat, especially when outdoors without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration. Impacts possible in some health systems and in heat-sensitive industries.
Information:
Hydration is a critical piece to surviving the heat. Drink water, and if possible, take water to those who are vulnerable. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to the early morning or evening. Take action when you experience symptoms of heat exhaustion and/or heat stroke. Beat the heat and check the backseat! Do not leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
