Details:
...HIGH SURF WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST WEDNESDAY...

...HIGH SURF WARNING FOR EAST FACING SHORES THROUGH WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...

.A east swell from Hurricane Fausto will peak today above High
Surf Warning levels. The swell will decline on Wednesday as the
system passes to the northwest. In addition, tides are running
higher than predicted and in combination with surf along east
shores may lead to more inundation and coastal flooding during the
daily high tide this afternoon.

* WHAT...Surf building to 14 to 18 feet.

* WHERE...East Facing shores.

* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Very High. Expect ocean water surging and sweeping
across beaches, coastal benches, and lava flows creating the
potential for impacts to coastal properties and infrastructure,
including roadways. Powerful longshore and rip currents will be
present at most beaches. Large breaking waves and strong
currents may impact harbor entrances and channels causing
challenging boat handling. In addition, tides are running higher
than predicted and in combination with surf along east shores
may lead to more inundation and coastal flooding during the
daily high tide this afternoon.

Information:
Stay away from the shoreline along the affected coasts. Be
prepared for road closures. Postpone entering or leaving channels
affected by the high surf until the surf subsides.
