...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 AM EDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...The following counties, in southeast Indiana, Dearborn and Ripley. * WHEN...Until 715 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 215 AM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2.5 inches are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Lawrenceburg, Greendale, Aurora, Hidden Valley, Bright, Versailles, Milan, Dillsboro, Shawnee, Moores Hill, Guilford, Wilmington, Manchester, Cold Springs, Mount Sinai, Farmers Retreat, Weisburg, Friendship, New Alsace and Olean.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
