...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Central and eastern Massachusetts as well as all of Rhode Island. * WHEN...Through late Monday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of rain will continue across the region right through Monday. Storm total rainfall amount of 2-4" are expected, but localized 5-7" amounts are possible. If these higher amounts are realized...the potential for both urban and small river/stream flooding would increase. This is particularly true if these localized higher amounts occur over a vulnerable urban center. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
