...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Strong winds and heavy snow possible. There is a chance of
moderate to major winter weather impacts. Total snow accumulations
between 1 and 6 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 40
mph. Rapid drop in temperatures could quickly freeze road surfaces.

* WHERE...MacDonald Pass, Highway 83 Seeley Lake to Condon, Butte,
Highway 12 Garrison to Elliston, Homestake Pass, Highway 200
Bonner to Greenough, I-90 East Missoula to Bearmouth, Flathead
Valley, Mission Valley, Polson, Georgetown Lake, and Flathead Lake.

* WHEN...From Thursday evening through Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4
mile due to falling and blowing snow. For MODERATE winter weather
impacts, expect disruptions to normal activities. Hazardous
traveling conditions. Use extra caution while driving. Closures
and disruptions to infrastructure may occur. For MAJOR winter
weather impacts, expect considerable disruptions to normal
activities. Dangerous or impossible traveling conditions. Avoid
travel in the impacted areas if possible. Widespread closures and
disruptions to infrastructure may occur. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Friday morning commute, especially over higher
passes.
