...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 AM MDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Prolonged periods of heavy snow expected. Total snow
accumulations between 10 and 20 inches. Winds could gust as high as
60 mph this evening, before decreasing tonight.

* WHERE...In Montana, Pryor/Northern Bighorn Mountains. In Wyoming,
Northeast Bighorn Mountains.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 AM MDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Recreation in the high country could be severely impacted
by heavy accumulating snow. Travel could be very difficult to
impossible, including along US14 through Burgess Junction. Blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility.

Information:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. For the latest road conditions, call
5 1 1. Recreation in the high country will be impacted by heavy
accumulating snow.

* WHAT...Southwest to west winds with gusts to 80 mph expected.

* WHERE...In Montana, Pryor/Northern Bighorn Mountains. In Wyoming,
Northeast Bighorn Mountains.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM MDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Very strong winds will create dangerous backcountry
conditions. Travel will be difficult along US-14 through Burgess
Junction.

Information:
People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around
or damaged by the wind.

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution and consider postponing travel
until winds subside.
