...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM FRIDAY TO 7 AM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches in the most persistent lake effect bands. Wind gusts as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Southern Herkimer County. * WHEN...From 1 AM Friday to 7 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Travel could be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact Thanksgiving holiday travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The lake effect band is expected to drop south into southern Herkimer County late tonight into Friday morning. It will then set up around or south of the Thruway into Friday night before diminishing early Saturday morning.
