...The National Weather Service in Portland OR has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Oregon...

Johnson Creek at Sycamore affecting Clackamas and Multnomah
Counties.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Johnson Creek at Sycamore.

* WHEN...Until early Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...Above 11.0 feet, minor flooding begins along Johnson
Creek between SE 92nd Street to SE 122nd Street and between
Johnson Creek and SE Harold Street.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:30 AM PDT Thursday the stage was 9.4 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river will rise to a maximum value of 11.3
feet late this afternoon.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.

Information:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM PDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northwest Oregon, including the following
county, Multnomah.

* WHEN...Until 200 PM PDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 757 AM PDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in the
warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gresham, Troutdale, Fairview and Wood Village.
- River gauges on the upper reaches of Johnson Creek at Gresham
and Beaver Creek at Troutdale are observing minor flooding.

Information:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
