...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CHST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Seas 8 to 10 feet. * WHERE...Marianas Coastal Waters. * WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Building northeast to east swell, reinforced by diminishing long-period north to northeast swells from distant low pressure systems will continue to produce hazardous seas up to 10 feet over Marianas coastal waters through at least this afternoon. Overall, the long-period swells are gradually subsiding, but the building northeast to east swell will keep seas elevated, potentially remaining at hazardous levels of 8 to 10 feet over eastern coastal waters of Tinian and Saipan through the weekend. Moderate to fresh winds out of the northeast are expected through early next week.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions.
