This is an emergency situation! * WHERE...Western Montezuma County in southwestern Colorado... Southern San Juan County in southeastern Utah... * WHEN...Until 600 AM MDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding along San Juan River is occurring or expected to begin shortly. The crest will occur around Aneth, Montezuma Creek and Bluff this afternoon and evening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 204 PM MDT, Sunday the stage for the San Juan river near Bluff was 20 feet. - Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 29.5 feet early Monday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 32.0 feet on 09/10/1927. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Low-water crossings will be inundated with water and may not be passable. The river is running fast and high. Do not attempt to cross. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 119 PM MDT, the San Juan River is forecast to continue to rise and crest later this evening into tonight at Bluff above moderate flood stage. Flooding will continue downstream to the terminus at Lake Powell through at least Tuesday morning. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
