...EXTREME COLD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON EST TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero
expected.

* WHERE...In North Carolina, Ashe and Watauga Counties. In Virginia,
Craig, Grayson, Alleghany VA, and Bath Counties. In West Virginia,
Eastern Greenbrier, Monroe, Summers, and Western Greenbrier
Counties.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to noon EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...In addition to the cold, continue to use
extra caution if traveling. The persistent cold has not allowed
for ice to melt off of untreated roads.

Information:
If you must go outside, dress in layers including a hat, face mask,
and gloves, and slow down if driving.

...Light snow accumulations taper off tonight...

Snow showers will continue to bring light snow accumulations of
up to a half inch to an inch or so to the western mountains of
North Carolina and Virginia, as well as the Greenbrier Valley in
West Virginia this evening. Areas that are directly on the upslope
side of the mountains may see slightly higher values than the 1
inch mentioned above.

Be prepared for slick spots on untreated roads, particularly on
bridges and overpasses. Please allow extra time to reach your
destination.
