Details:
...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM AKDT THIS AFTERNOON... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 4 AM AKDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding.
For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 3 to 5
feet above the normal high tide line.

* WHERE...Southern Seward Peninsula Coast.

* WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 1 PM AKDT Sunday.
For the High Surf Advisory, from 1 PM Sunday to 4 AM AKDT
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Local government officials have reported minor
flooding is occurring along Council Road east of Nome, causing
road damage beyond mile 8, which has caused the closure of the
road beyond that point. Additionally, minor beach erosion is
occurring. For Nome and Golovin, water levels have recently
peaked and will gradually drop into Sunday. While water levels
remain near their apex at this time, in Nome, this can result
in water approaching low-lying homes in Belmont Subdivision
with standing water expected in the port area. For Golovin,
water may inundate any beach property but the roads, buildings
and residences should not be impacted as the water remains
below the berm. Even though water levels drop somewhat, they
will remain normal through early next week. Localized beach
erosion may occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...South to southwest winds will continue to
gust up to 40 mph through the weekend. Strong winds continue
into early next week.

Information:
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
