...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM AKST TUESDAY... * WHAT...For Valdez and Keystone Canyon, snow expected. For Thompson Pass, snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 10 and 24 inches. Highest amounts near Thompson Pass. * WHERE...Northeast Prince William Sound. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM AKST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow is expected to be heavy at times overnight tonight through around noon Tuesday before slowly tapering off late Tuesday afternoon. Snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour area possible in heavy snow. For Thompson Pass, wind gusts up to 30 mph may result in blowing snow at times, reducing visibility as low as one half mile.
