...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM MDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Prolonged periods of heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 feet, greatest on south and west facing aspects. Locally higher totals are possible. Winds could gust as high as 85 mph through this evening. * WHERE...Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains. * WHEN...Until 6 AM MDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Recreation in the high country will be severely impacted by heavy accumulating and blowing snow. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow may not begin falling on the north aspects until Friday.
Do not get caught unprepared in the high country. Severe winter conditions are expected. Avalanche danger will also increase.
