The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southern Lee County in southeastern Iowa...
Southwestern Hancock County in west central Illinois...
Clark County in northeastern Missouri...
Scotland County in northeastern Missouri...

* Until 200 AM CDT.

* At 819 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated training thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area with more
thunderstorms upstream. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have
fallen since late afternoon. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4
inches are becoming probable in the warned area by midnight. Flash
flooding is expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Keokuk, Carthage, Kahoka, Memphis, Hamilton, Warsaw, Wayland,
Wyaconda, West Point, Alexandria, Ferris, Rutledge, Luray, South
Gorin, Granger, St. Francisville, Crawford, Winchester, Elvaston
and Basco.

Information:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
