...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM MDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Prolonged periods of heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 feet, greatest on south and west facing aspects. Locally higher totals are possible. Winds could gust as high as 85 mph today. * WHERE...Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains. * WHEN...Until 6 AM MDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Recreation in the high country will be severely impacted by heavy accumulating snow. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow may not begin falling on the north aspects until Friday.
