Mississippi River at Canton. Mississippi River at Clarksville. Mississippi River at Louisiana. Kaskaskia River at Vandalia. Missouri River near Chamois. Missouri River at Hermann. Mississippi River at Lock & Dam 21. Illinois River at Hardin. Mississippi River at Winfield. Mississippi River at Hannibal. Mississippi River at Quincy. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Quincy. * WHEN...From Tuesday afternoon to Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 18.5 feet, BNSF Railroad main line, 10 to 16 miles above Quincy begins to flood at several locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 PM CDT Monday the stage was 18.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.0 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday morning. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
Information:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted.
