...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON TO LATE TUESDAY NIGHT...

...The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has
issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Missouri...

Platte River near Platte City affecting Platte County.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Platte River near Platte City.

* WHEN...From Monday afternoon to late Tuesday night.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Cropland near State Highway 92 near Platte
City begins to flood. At 22.0 feet, Flooding occurs at Humphreys
Access Area which is located 5 miles downstream from Platte City.
300 acres of pasture are also flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 7:30 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 20.1 feet.
- Forecast...The river will fall to just below flood stage late
this evening to 19.7 feet by tomorrow morning. It will then rise
again to flood stage early Tuesday morning. It will then fall for
the remainder of the period.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Information:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
