...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CHST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Seas 8 to 10 feet. * WHERE...Chuuk Coastal Waters. * WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Recent altimetry data shows combined seas of 10 to 11 feet just east and west of Chuuk waters, indicating model guidance is underestimating sea heights by 1 to 2 feet there. Large north to northeast swell will continue to produce hazardous seas of 8 to 10 feet through at least this afternoon, gradually diminishing through the rest of the week.
Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid boating in hazardous conditions.
