...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM MDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Periods of moderate to heavy snow expected. Total snow
accumulations between 8 and 12 inches with up to 18 inches at the
highest elevations. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Big Belt, Bridger and Castle Mountains, Elkhorn and
Boulder Mountains, Helena Valley, and Meagher County Valleys.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM MDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult and tire chains may be
required for some vehicles. Those in the backcountry should ensure
they are prepared for dangerous conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning
commutes.
