...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...Snow and blowing snow will diminish later this afternoon as winds decrease. However, snow redevelops tonight with periods of moderate to heavy snow expected at times Friday through Saturday. Additional snow accumulations between 10 and 20 inches. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph this afternoon then decreasing to gusts as high as 30 to 40 mph tonight. * WHERE...Upper Blackfoot and MacDonald Pass and Northwest Beaverhead County. * WHEN...Until 6 PM MDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult and tire chains may be required for some vehicles. Those in the backcountry should ensure they are prepared for dangerous conditions. Strong winds could cause tree damage.
