...EXTREME HEAT WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures between 95 and 100 degrees possible. * WHERE...Greater Portland Metro, Central Willamette Valley, Western Columbia River Gorge, Lower Columbia River, Inner Vancouver Metro, and East Clark County Lowlands. * WHEN...From Sunday morning through Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Low temperatures between 63 to 67 degrees are possible for Monday morning and Tuesday morning. However, there is a 5-15% chance low temperatures will remain above 70 degrees Monday morning and a 15-25% chance Tuesday morning, which would lead to poor overnight relief.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in a cool place during the heat of the day, stay out of the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors. For those without air conditioning, use fans to keep air moving. Keeps windows closed during the day and open at night, unless air quality is degraded due to wildfire smoke.
